Director of Systems
Nick’s role as director of operations with Canyons Fresh Grill is to develop and implement procedures, policies and ensure high standards for the brand. He is committed to the Canyons Fresh Grill culture, as he understands its value in the equation for success. Prior to joining the franchise team, he spent four years with the Sedgwick Restaurant Group as GM of Aspens Signature Steaks, overseeing all aspects of operations. Nick helps new franchisees in onboarding the dining room operations, specifically with training of front of house managers.

As co-founder of Canyon’s Fresh Grill, Mark brings more than 35 years experience in the technology field and a total of 60+ years in retail customer-based businesses to guide the organization. He enjoys sharing his experience in sales, marketing, branding, and technology applications with his team, always willing to mentor and develop people. In addition to his leadership of Canyon’s Fresh Grill, Mark provides consulting services for software development companies, food and beverage concepts, and manages several real estate properties. he was also a franchise partner in the fast casual restaurant concept Planet Smoothie. As a native of Warner Robins, GA, Mark worked with his father to open ten retail shoe stores across the state of Georgia; he is pleased to continue the tradition of a family owned and operated business. As the Canyon’s Fresh Grill welcomes new franchisees to the family, Mark will guide unit growth and expansion strategies. Mark has a passion for food, football, outdoor activities; he loves his family and community and prioritizes both when applying his time and talent.

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
As co-founder of the Canyons Fresh Grill concept, Sonny helped develop and perfect the fusion of a great fresh menu with a cool, hip, active lifestyle. He has more than 30 years of food and beverage industry experience, with 20 years spent in the franchising segment. He served as VP of Store Development for Raving Brands restaurants, with a portfolio filled with some of the nation’s most exciting and appealing quick service restaurant brands including Moe’s Southwest Grill, Planet Smoothie, and Mama Fu’s Asian House. Sonny is a founding member of Moe’s Southwest Grill, and during his time with Moe’s, Sonny held the positions of VP of Franchise Development, and also as Senior VP of Operations for 365 locations nationwide. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a business management degree, and he loves the combination of fresh food, outdoor activities and prioritizing family and community connections. Sonny works with new Canyons Fresh Grill franchisees to determine market appropriateness, site selection, and he is very involved in the build out, location launch, and oversight of ongoing operations.
G R E G G O N Z A L E Z
Director of Operations
Greg is the go-to-guy for franchisees with all onsite operational needs. With more than 25 years of experience in the food service industry, he is seasoned to provide solutions and professional development support to help franchisees be successful. In his previous role as Manager for California Dreaming in Kennesaw, GA, Greg was responsible for the entire kitchen operation, including food preparation, ordering and inventory tracking, menu development, safety and quality compliance, budgeting, and staffing for a team of 40 employees. He has a passion for mentoring team members to develop their best self, and a leadership style that weaves the customer experience into every consideration. Greg’s background includes roles as restaurant manager, server trainer, crew trainer, store opener, and more, during his tenure at fast paced restaurants including Olive Garden, Mancino’s, Uncle Bud’s, and McDonald’s. He holds the ServSafe certification for food and beverage safety from the National Restaurant Association.
B E N M I L A M
In his role as kitchen chef, Ben is responsible for the day to day, back of house operations for Canyons Fresh Grill, including scheduling, budgeting and training. During his twenty years of kitchen and restaurant experience he has worked in short order kitchens and diners, country clubs, and fine dining establishments. Ben provides kitchen manager training, instructing food quality safety standards, new product development and onsite evaluations for Canyons Fresh Grill corporate locations; he will do the same for new franchisees.
